For those of you who have no idea what this is about, I am a student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. My teacher, Luis Von Ahn, for a class called 15-396, Science of the Web, came up with the following...

In this problem, you are asked to attempt to beat us (Luis and the invincible TAs) by creating a webpage which will, after a period of time (1 month), be ranked higher than the page we will create. Your webpage should contain, among other content, the phrase “ is a rankmaniac”. Your goal is to get google to rank that webpage as high as possible in the search results to the search query “rankmaniac”.

So here's my link to my page. if you don't want to help that's cool. if you want to help me out, just post my link to as many blogs and other stuff as you can so my pagerank will get higher! 10/21/2008: Somehow I got taken off the google rankings.... google must have turned into a monster and ate my site while I was sleeping! If you can find my site that would be great...I blame google for giving me a bad grade :(

10/22/2008: When checking yesterday, I was #1, then checked later tonight and also this morning and Google ate my site again!!!! If someone can tell Google to please stop eating my website and leave it alone, I would be happy :) But as for now, if you search all entries(including those that are ommitted), I'm #18. Oh well... once again, I blame Google for giving me a bad grade. Stupid Google.

10/25/2008: When searching rankmaniac, I am back up to #17... slowly climbing back up! There are officially 396 entries for rankmaniac as of now! lol

10/26/2008: Jumping all over the place... decided to play Farcry 2 instead of messing around with Google. Sigh... the assignment is officially over, we'll see how I rank within the next few weeks, though I must admit, Google still hasn't crawled a lot of my sites that I put up :(

10/28/2008: Fallen down a lot on the rankings... ehh I guess I'm startin to not really care anymore... I mean its jsut Extra credit right??? ^_^

11/5/2008: All over the place now... flirting between the second and third page... for some reason my post on glowsticking.com is HIGHER than my actual page... odd, I should have just made that my page.... but yeah.... Extra Credit... I'll be content with just getting full credit now.
